Melisa Update - Part 1: Preggers!

I bet you thought we bailed on this blog, didn't you?
Well, don't worry... after some busy life stuff, we are back.

We have near future plans to re-vamp this blog and continue to
post on a more regular basis.
Don't leave us!

So, where have I been for the past like 10 months?

After 2 long years of trying, we found out we were finally
going to grow our family back in July.
After months of crying tears of disappointment every month
when i read a negative test, I was shocked to
find out it was finally positive.
We were having a baby!

Pregnancy wasn't so bad.
The first 15 weeks I puked my guts out.
It was terrible, but I was actually grateful because
to me it was a sign that everything was ok.

We chose not to find out the gender.
Danielle was not happy about the suspense,
but my husband and I loved it!
It made everything even that much more exciting for us!

I starting showing a bump very soon.

I grew...
and grew...
and grew...
and grew...
and grew...
and grew.

I didn't think my belly could stretch anymore,
which was good, because baby decided to come
3 weeks early!

I had nothing ready!
The room wasn't finished, my house wasn't ready,
no baby items were put together!
But that is what I get for trying to over plan everything!

10pm Thursday February 21st, our lives were
about to change...
Continued in Part 2: "Here Comes Baby"...

DIY Idea Jar.

My sisters, Shiloh & Hannah, came to see me a couple weeks ago and we had a little craft night where we put together some "idea jars". Our dear friend, Rachel, also joined in on the excitement. While Shiloh & Hannah went with the standard idea or bored jar, Rachel and I made our's into "date jars". I always seem to have a plethora of mason jars laying around as well as plenty of fabric scraps & other little crafty items, so we were pretty much set.

Supplies needed:
Mason jar.
Glue.
Ribbons, bows, buttons, or anything else you want to use for decorating.
Papper scraps to jot down your ideas.

I don't know about any of you but I'm definitely guilty of wasting time, simply because I can't think of something to do. I think this is a great little motivator. So whenever I have an idea for a date or something else I really want to try, I just write it down and drop it in the jar. And, anytime I need a little push to do something I can just pick from those ideas. Plus, it looks pretty cute on my living room desk.
Hope you find this helpful!

I AM SO READY... for 2013!

So far this year has brought me so much hope! Here are the top 3 things I'm looking forward to in the new year.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosting the Golden Globes! This combines three of my loves... celebs, award shows, and funny ladies! You go girls!

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are having a baby. Not only am i weirdly obsessed with the Kardashians i am also obsessed with celeb drama and this story promises to bring me a lot of both in the new year. I gotta give it up to Kim K. for figuring out a way to stay famous for a lot longer than we all thought she would. I also hear that according to California law if she has the baby while still married to the hump master he legally has rights to her and Kanye's baby! Look out Mr. West you just stepped into some real baby mama drama!

Last and certainly not least today i come across the best celeb news in years... he's back!
It wasn't too long ago that i wrote a blog about Mr. Timberlake and voiced my concerns over his long absence from music. Justin and Jesus must be reading this blog because my prayers have been answered! Though there is no release date issued it looks like there is real hope that sexy is coming back in 2013!

Happy New Year Everyone!

A Very Etsy Christmas

Decorating for Christmas has always been one of my favorite things. Throughout the year I am always on the lookout at thrift and antique stores for unique Christmasy finds.
It recently occurred to me to look on etsy for the same type of things and I figured I would share some of the treasures that I found.

Christmas owls.

Green & red tea pot.

Adorable tiny deer.

Vintage story book.

Handmade ornament set.

Vintage cups.

Handmade tree ornaments.

Embroidery hoop ornaments.

Cute bunting.

Electric candle.

Well I hope that everyone is having a wonderful little holiday season and I would love to hear some of your ideas when it comes to decorating for Christmas.

My Top 5 Favorite Romantic Comedies!

I am a girl and I LOVE romantic comedies! I happened to catch Pretty Woman on TV the other day and it got me thinking about my favorites so here are my top 5 in no particular order.

Pretty Woman
It doesn't get much better than Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in this classic. Their chemistry is amazing and who doesn't love a good story about a rich and handsome guy falling for a hooker!

When Harry Met Sally
The scene with the fake orgasm is hilarious and i love how the unusual pairing of Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan works so well! This movie just goes to show you can fake an orgasm but you cant fake chemistry and these two have chemistry!

The Object of my Affection
Before there was Wanderlust there was The Object of my Affection! I love this story of a pregnant woman falling in love with a gay man. I have also always loved Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd.

Pretty in Pink
This is by far my favorite 80's movie! Me and Melisa used to have it on repeat all day everyday to the point that we had memorized the whole thing! The only thing that could make this movie better would be if she would have ended up with Ducky like she was originally supposed to... damn test audiences! All in all it is a classic!

Crazy Stupid Love
Three words sum up why i love this movie: RYAN GOSLING SHIRTLESS!!!
Ha ha besides that it is a unique and well thought out plot and the cast is perfect!

So there you go my top 5 favorite romantic comedies! What are some of your favorites?
