DIY Herbal Soap
I recently discovered a quick and simple way to make your own custom herbal bar soap!
You only need a few ingredients and basic supplies from your kitchen.
Supplies:
soap base
herbs (i used chamomile)
essential oil
container to use as a mold
double boiler
Step 1:
Cut the soap base into smaller pieces so that it melts easier in the double boiler.
Step 2:
Once the soap base is melted in the double boiler, add about 2 teaspoons of herbs for every pound of soap & about half a teaspoon of essential oil.
Step 3:
Pour into a soap mold or any small container and let sit for 24 hours.
And, you're done!
Enjoy.

Preschool!
Today marks a big milestone for Sadie Fay and I. My little bug had her first day of preschool today! She has been talking about going to preschool for at least a year now; saying she was excited about it would definitely be an understatement. I can't believe she is going to be four in a couple of weeks! It's days like today I realize how fast she is growing up. It has to stop i can't take it!!!
Here are a few pictures of my little cutie on her first day.
(Sorry for the bad cell phone pics.)
Enjoy!
Morning faces on kids are the cutest! On adults not so much. |
Distracted by the TV. She is definitely my kid. |
Sadie and Dad. Who's more excited?! |
I love my little girl way too much!!! |
Sadie and her friend Lillian. |
Her new lady bug backpack. |
She's pumped! When did she get so big?!!! |
I am so proud of my little girl she completed her first day of preschool like a champ! I must say she looked pretty cute today all grown up and stuff!
Well, I'm going to go cry now.

Delicious Buttercream Frosting Recipe
Quick, easy and very tasty!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of shortening
1/2 cup of butter
1 tsp clear vanilla
4 cups of powdered sugar
A small amount of milk (1-2 tbsp)
Step 1:
In a mixer, cream together your butter and shortening.
Step 2:
Add vanilla.
Step 3:
Slowly add sugar while continuing to mix.
Step 5:
Add small amounts of milk depending on how think or creamy you want your icing to be.
My mother has always made the best homemade icing and I've always struggled with trying to match her's... I think this is the closest I've gotten so far.
Enjoy!

Not So Guilty Crushes.
So I am the type of person who doesn't have guilty pleasures because I don't feel guilty about anything that I love! For example I watch soap operas and I'm obsessed with NKOTB! Here are my top crushes that I should be ashamed of, but i'm not!
So my number one strange crush is the one and only Prince. He's sexy and strange and wears higher heels than I do! What's not to love?!
Numbers two is Jason Lee. I have a thing for awkwardly tall and skinny guys. Even with his creepy mustache I can't help but swoon!
Number three is my little creep Giovanni Ribisi. He's so awkward and spastic I love it!
