Happy Hump Day

Happy Wednesday everybody! First, I would like say a big happy birthday to our talented lady friend Lauren, my best friend Anthony, and my Pop! Yes, if you're wondering, I am the child with the scary smile. We all have those right? Moving on.

We are about to step into a land that no person should ever travel to with me. Except my friend Natalie who told me to share this. I am hoping and praying you all have heard of the girl wonder, super sleuth extraordinaire, titian haired beauty, bad ass in the Roadster..Nancy Drew. Stay with me here people. I don't know about you, but I have been slightly obsessed with her forever. If there is one character I want to be from childhood it's her. Don't judge me, or DO judge me. I don't care. Girl detectives never care.
Nat and I discovered so many treats on Pinterest today (follow me!) that it would be rude not to share. Consider this a peace offering for being absent for so long. Still with me? Perfect.

Who doesn't want these magnets? A fool, that's who.
Seriously you may be looking at my 24th birthday party. (
The only way I want to carry my money from now on.
Sorry Mom, I need it.
Those are just a few of the finds from Pinterest. I am not ashamed. EMBRACE YOUR INNER SLEUTH! Now I have to get to The Lilac Inn and get me some jewels back, okray?
ps. THIS is currently the newest thing happening in my life. Thanks Miss Nora for the design!

Style Icons... Then and Now!

So my absolute favorite actress of all time is Audrey Hepburn. I love her so much i got her portrait tattooed on my arm. Her style and classic beauty are timeless. There are many actresses today that try to emulate her classic style. The actress that i found most refreshing and surprisingly similar is Rooney Mara. With their gaunt frames, iconic bangs and poise they are a designers ideal muse! So much so that they have both caught the eye of the designers at the helm of Givenchy. Audrey Hepburn has always been known as the muse of Hubert de Givenchy and wore his designs in countless movies. Rooney Mara has worn many Givenchy designs under current creative director Riccardo Tisci. Both wearing white Givenchy dresses to one of the biggest nights in fashion the Oscars! Don't believe me that these two are so similar... the proof is in the pictures!

as fresh faced newcomers

 Rooney's updated rocker look
So there you have it Style Icons... Then and Now. Fashion and style always come back around the key is to keep it new and fresh!

Thanks a Bunch,

P.S. Sorry this is my first blog in months... life as you know is insane!

DIY Lemon Salt Scrub.

I recently found this neat little recipe for a simple skin exfoliant that can be made from three basic kitchen ingredients.
All you need is:
5 tablespoons of sea salt.
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 lemon.

All three ingredients are known to be good for the skin in one way or another.
Olive oil is a common folk remedy for dry skin & may also protect your skin against sun damage.
Sea salt is a natural detoxifier for the skin & lemon juice has been said to help reduce the appearance of scars and treat acne among others.
So this little mixture is pretty much a win. Give it a try & let me know how ya like it!

Photographs from July.

Here is a little view of last month. Enjoy.

Also I wanted to share this little feature that Jackie Farrow did on my portrait work:

Oh and I almost forgot...

We saw refused play a small club in Brooklyn last month...
it was hands down the best live show I have ever seen. I only wish I had my camera with me.

How was your July?
