Ten Craziest Celebrities

Today Melisa and I were having our normal chat session, and she linked me to an article on Yahoo's OMG News counting down the ten creepiest/craziest celebrities. Being far too entertained by the world of celebrity gossip, it intrigued us into creating our own. It was extremely difficult to wrangle ten crazy famous people (that is just lathered with sarcasm). These are strictly our opinions and not to be taken seriously....but when we're right, we're right.

10. Billy Ray Cyrus- Friend to friend, soul patches are frightening. It's like a little patch of fear you are able to carry around on your chin. After insisting on being on your daughter's Disney show, you condoned her pole dancing, hoochie outfit wearing, borderline CPS worthy perfomance. Sources say you recently spotted a UFO by your house. 2 out of 4 ATTB gals vote that the aliens can keep you. And p.s. Keith Urban called, he wants his look back, but keep the soul patch.

9. Jocelyn Wildenstein- Enough said. No, really, enough is enough!

8. Mel Gibson- Manic. Unpredictable. Anti-semetic. Between your racial slurs and sexual demands, I feel like after a two minute conversation with you my brain would need re-wired, swabbed with Lysol, and repent with ten Hail Mary's.

7. Carrot Top- Give redheads a break, man. Ron Weasley can only bring them back up so much! The muscles aren't helping...we promise.

 6. Janice Dickinson- Oh Earth Angel. The only reason you aren't on ANTM anymore is because Tyra is jealous. It's all true, and we all know it. It's not because you are a little nuts...nope, not one bit.

5. R. Kelly- Keep your closet, keep your remixes (we admit, it was catchy), and keep your belief in flying. I want no part in this. I will use the restroom on my own terms thankyouverymuch. ALLEGEDLY! Danielle makes a good point, you would be a great companion to the beach. Those jellyfish can be a real pain (pun intended).

4. Spencer Pratt- The flesh colored, hamster beard is so maddening it's almost irrational. But keep your chin up lad, you have a bright future of being this when you grow up. "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here"..exactly.

3. Taylor Momsen- CHILD! Slow your roll Troubled McAngsty. Life isn't that hard, especially for a rich teenager with a resume longer than R. Kelly's rap sheet (hey-ooo! ALLEGEDLY!). I hope I have 5 just like ya.

2. Doug Hutchison- "Fascinatingly crazy and creepy," said New York Times. "Mystical and hypnotizing," said Washington Post. "Hide yo kids, hide yo wife," said Antoine Dodson. Seriously, hide your kids because he will make them his wife. What did The X-Files do to you!?

1. Tom Cruise- Melisa said it perfectly, "I feel like if you look him straight in the eye you will wither emotionally." It's amazing how all of that crazy fits in one tiny little Scientologist. I miss "The Outsiders" Tom Cruise. Ladies am I right??

You have to admit that 10 out of 10 are correct. Fame, it's a crazy thing, literally. We hope you enjoyed our first celebrity related rant. You want to look away, but you can't. We understand. Is there anything you want us to rant about for you? Leave it in the comment section!

All American Spiced Apple Muffins.

Last friday when Melisa and I went on our little thrift outing, I picked up The All American Apple Cook Book at one of our stops. Conveniently I had some super fresh and tasty apples that my husband's boss had given to him from a local orchard. I prefer baking to cooking so I went straight to the pastry section.
I decided to try one of the muffin recipes (mainly because I wanted to use my halloween cupcake papers).

Spiced Apple Muffins:
1/4 cup of shortening
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk
1 cup of finely chopped apples
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream together shortening, sugar, and egg, blend well. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients. Next you fold in the chopped apples. Fill muffin greased or paper lined muffin pans half full.

Now for my favorite part of this recipe... the topping!!
1/3 cup of brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/3 cup of chopped nuts... (I used pecans)
1/2 tsp. of cinnamon
Mix well and spread over muffins and add apple slices to each muffin (optional).
Bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees.

Enjoy and happy halloween!

Halloween House Tour

Tomorrow is Halloween! My sister always decorates her house so cute, especially around Halloween, which just happens to be her favorite holiday. I thought I would do a house tour and show you all of the knick-knacks that make her house spooky!

When you walk into her house the first thing you see is the family room. This might be my favorite room of all.

These are three of my favorite elements that make up the mantle.

To the right of the family room is the dining room. On the far side of the room she has an old buffet that used to be our grandma's. Not only does it store her platters and other special occasion dishes, but it is home to the Halloween potions and poisons! She is a witch! Just kidding. Off with her 'ead!

It's just a little Hocus Pocus!

Once you walk through the kitchen, you hop down one step into Ads' play room, and of course she had to have Halloween decorations too!

How precious? Tomorrow I will be back over there to eat chili and watch my little niece trick or treat as a Pumpkin Fairy. What are you doing for Halloween? Did you go to any fun parties this weekend? I went to one and I was a cheap heard me. It was $10.

Clover says "Happy Halloween! Now get out of here!"

Day Off = Thrifting Adventure!

Yesterday was a lovely day. Pretty Miss Melisa and I spend the afternoon thrift/craft shopping.

Since we both had the day off, we wanted to make the most of it. Melisa needed to pick up some new fabric for her handmade doggie bandanas and little baby onsies & I can never turn down an opportunity to get a little thrifty.

Our first stop: Goodwill Thrift (located on McKnight Rd ). We found a few sweet finds there... I walked out with a few yards of pretty floral fabric, a cook book devoted to apples, and some lovely green thread.

The Christmas Story.

Creepy little elf.

Second stop: Panera Bread! Always good for a tasty lunch! (and for a little bit of spilled soup)

Third stop: Joann Fabrics (McKnight Rd)

Melisa loaded up her cart with plenty of cute and seasonal fabrics. And I got some new card stock for my postcard project.

Fourth and final stop: The community thrift store on Babcock Blvd. And here, we made out like bandits.

Dave Bowie Record: Last Dance.

Madonna and Child in vintage frame.

Little vintage rabbit shaker.

Super cute rooster and hen salt and pepper shakers.

Shirt Tales glass set!

Mary statue for Melisa's collection.

Trifting will never get old for there will always be an endless supply of unique and quirky vintage goodies for us to discover!

90210 Life Lessons: Halloween Edition!

My favorite show of all time is Beverly Hills 90210. It premiered in 1990 when i was six years old. Not exactly the kind of show a six year old should be watching right? Wrong. The lessons i have learned watching 90210 have continued to help me throughout my adolescent and adult life! Seriously, i quite often find myself in a conversation with someone talking about a problem they are having and think to myself Brenda Walsh went through the same thing. So i have decided to share these lessons with all of you! Today's lesson is a two for one special.

Lesson number 1:
DO NOT dress up as a sexy vampire unless you want to be attacked by a cowboy!
In this clip you will see Kelly Taylor dressed up as a sexy vampire which causes this cowboy to get the wrong idea.

So what have we learned form this ladies? Maybe you should think twice before you put on that sexy kitten costume or that sexy cop uniform. Not only are these types of costumes ridiculous and unoriginal they are dangerous! As Brenda states later in this episode you're just asking for trouble wearing an outfit like this. So put away the sexy nun costume and think again!

Lesson number 2:
Make sure your outfit is practical!
Donna Martin learned this lesson the hard way by choosing to wear this mermaid costume:

It may be cute and well made but it is extremely impractical. Donna could not walk or sit in this costume and had to spend the entire night standing in the corner by herself... not fun! So in closing think long and hard about what you wear on this wild and crazy holiday. Instead of going slutty or impractical try something more along these lines:
Yes that's Melisa dressed as a champagne bottle!
